Tonight they are going to replay the pilot episode for those of you that might have missed it.
"Pilot" After their first date, Ted's eagerness threatens to scare Robin away.

Last night's episode was new and I thought it was pretty weak. It did not have a lot of the other cast members and had way too much of Ted. Ted is the worst part of this show and they have to write him better or get a better actor to play the part. the flying mutant mouse was not funny at all.

A better episode then last weeks affair. You could see the going to the hospital thing a mile away but it still was funny. This was the first episode that didn't follow the path of finding the future wife so it was nice and fresh. Barney continues to bring the funny and is the highlight of this show.

Yesterday's episode was one of the best. I like how they did the whole show thru flashbacks because Ted had too much to drink the night before. Barney again brought the funny and it would have been too easy if it was Robin in his bed the next day. I still say they hook up at the end of this show, but we may never get to see that.

Why not revive this thread? It's been years so there is plenty to talk about. Anyone have any comments about the progress the show has made?

Well I do not know if they have made much progress since the show started. Ted is still Ted and a loser and not doing much about finding his future wife, Robin & Barney should get back together and stay that way & the other two have pretty much stayed the same since the very first episode. I do hope we finally get to see the mother soon so we can see some movement on that front or this show should get dropped.

I've only just got into this show. Not entirely sure which season I'm currently watching (Barney's in love with Robin but hasn't told her yet.) I saw the season before that (which I think was either the 2nd or 3rd) so I'm missing quite a few episodes.
As for the whole meeting the mother bit. I thought that not knowing was kind of the point. That said, isn't Stella the mother?

As far as we know Stella is not the mom.
But, yes. To agree with HK, I feel like the entire point of the show is leading up to meeting the mom. Of course, they have broadened that gimmick to avoid getting one-tracked or boring, but I wouldn't expect to learn who she is until the last episode of the show.
HK, sounds like you are watching season 4 I think.

Oh really? I thought she was, though it certainly makes more sense if she isn't. !!! QUOTE !!!

Thanks wd. That means I've still got seasons 1 & 2 to see yet. ----------------- I often wonder how I'm going to die. You don't want to embarrass friends.

Any thoughts on the 100th episode for those that have seen it? Were you a little let down like me? They kept talking it up as some complete musical, and instead it was like 4 minutes of some half-asses musical. Not a bad one, but a little bit of a letdown. (Then again most 100th episodes of most shows are.)

I agree with you WD. I feel this episode just shows the slow decline of the show. If you can not pull something at least good if not great for this episode what hope do you give for the remainder? I too thought the singing would be for more of the episode not just for one short shot.
