Hard Rain - 6/10...ok...so it's not the greatest film...but it's one of my guilty favorites...Morgan Freeman is great in everything he plays in...and i like Christian Slater,as well...and well...Minnie Driver is just plain hot. Randy Quaid isn't bad in it as well.
the action is decent, and well...the twists in it make it worth while,as well

Minnie isn't that hot imo, rather just average. but being an owner of the DVD I would have to say the movie is pretty darn good. ----------------- From now till kingdom come... the only thing you can count on... in your existence... is never understanding why.

Secretary 8/10
"Lee Holloway is a smart, quirky woman in her twenties who returns to her hometown in Florida after a brief stay in a mental hospital. In search of relief from herself and her oppressive childhood environment, she starts to date a nerdy friend from high school and takes a job as a secretary in a local law firm, soon developing an obsessive crush on her older boss, Mr. Grey. Through their increasingly bizarre relationship, Lee follows her deepest longings to the heights of masochism and finally to a place of self-affirmation."
A little...well ok a lot... on the kinky D&S side, but the incredible performances by James Spader and Maggie Gyllenhall make this dark romantic comedy worth seeing.
Umm...that is sure interesting box are Sen.

Grosse Point Blank - 8/10...i really love this movie. it has become one of my all time favorites...it gets huge points simply for Dan Aykroyd's role.

The City By The Sea :
Rating : 6,5 / 10
Tho I liked the performances of the cast :
McDormand, DeNiro, James Franco, Eliza Dushku and William Forsythe the movie was still average for me.
It makes a nice drama but it lacks a bit of depth.
Overall I would say this movie is enjoyable to a certain point but never goes beyond that.

Dolores Claiborne - 9/10 You have to be in the mood for this one and tonight I was. A brilliant film, expertly shot and with Oscar worthy performances from Kathy Bates, Jennifer Jason Leigh and Christopher Plummer. Absolute class.

Timeline - 5/10...why the HECK can't they make a movie more like the book???? ok...so maybe my first viewing of this was bad because i love the bok so much...but come on...i was really disappointed in this. not to say i didn't enjoy it at all...they were a few good performances...but not many...and i really wanna smack the casting director for putting Paul Walker in this...i mean...has he ever done a god role?
all that aside...i have to admit the scenery and the filming was very well done.

Event Horizon
9,5 / 10
Totally still one of THE best movies outthere.
While Fishburne is good there is not arguing that Neil steals the show totally.
Scary, dark and creepy.
As it should be

That's how much friend convinced me to see that. Of course, it's nowhere near as good as Point Break. I love that film! ----------------- I often wonder how I'm going to die. You don't want to embarrass friends.

Identity ~ 10/10
This is by far one of the most thought provoking movies I have seen in YEARS!! I'm a huge fan of mysteries, so this is a perfect movie for me. Usually after you see a mystery movie once, they aren't as entertaining the second time around, but not with this one! I've seen it probably 10 times and I still love it, I can find something new every viewing that I didn't catch previously. Cusack is one of my all-time favorite actors, so that is a huge bonus in my book. Although my fiance was highly disappointed to see Amanda Peet keep her clothes on. LOL

Yes I have seen it .. well duh. And yea he is mimicing Point Break, but I didn't really care. @ WickedAngel. Every guy was dissepointed that Peet kept everything on. She wanted a sex scene btw, but the director not. ----------------- From now till kingdom come... the only thing you can count on... in your existence... is never understanding why.

Dissepointing movie in my opinion, had to really make myself keep watching it.
Not one I would recommend for the comedy fan.

Morons From Outer Space 0 / 10 Totally despised this movie, if you can call it a movie. I suppose the only excuse the film has that its been shot in the '80s ----------------- From now till kingdom come... the only thing you can count on... in your existence... is never understanding why.

I agree wholeheartedly. This is on my 2003 top five. Vastly underrated movie. It was written well, the acting was fantastic and it was just wonderful. This is another I have seen about 10 times as well. Even though the story may present anything new, the movie is just flat out exciting. !!! QUOTE !!!

What kind of dumb bitch asks to have a sex scene? And where would they put it? At what point would it have been appropriate? The scene at the beginning with the fat diplomat? Wow, what a skank. I just saw Reign of Fire last night. I was afraid to see it in the theater. I'm glad I finally got to see it and I'm glad I didn't pay 8 bucks for it. It wasn't awful by any means, but it sure wasn't amazing. I think that average budgeted apocalyptic, utopian, futuristic society movies are doomed from the start. Very few do well. This movie didn't suffer from lack of dragons as much as it did character development. They had an opportunity to really capitalize on these people and their lives, but they were shrugged off as insignificant nobodies who are barely hanging on. Bah. Oh well. I think 5/10 is very harsh so it gets 6/10. [ This message was edited by: wd40 on 2004-04-16 08:37 ]

yea WD...i saw Dreamcatcher...and he was even good in that. think of how bad the role would have been if it wasn't Freeman playing it...lol. sadly...i think that character was one of the things that made that film go bad...i was a bit disappointed in it...but Freeman is still one of the best

I agree that Freeman wasn't that good in Dreamcatcher, but the whole movie wasn't good... so I don't think it can be blaimed on just him. I mean look at Sizemore, he ownz in military roles but he was a dissepointment in this movie as well. !!! QUOTE !!!

Eventho you know how it all works, I'm just simply amazed by the sheer brilliance of the writer. And you always find some little new things. God I love that. !!! QUOTE !!!

Thats the reason why the director said no, you should really watch the Making Of, I mean she just asked it cuz it was with Cusack. And it woulda dragged the movie down completely. Reign Of Fire, I would take your 5 / 10 as my rating. And now for my movie ratings, cuz wow I'm rambling again (nothing new). The Addams Family Values : A well deserverd 8,5 / 10. Can't compare with the original one, but Ricci in the rol of Wednesday, that alone makes me watch it. She is so amazingly sadistic that it frightening. And its a nice chance to see Raul Julia perform, an amazing actor who passed away too soon in the movieworld ----------------- From now till kingdom come... the only thing you can count on... in your existence... is never understanding why.
