Like maybe some excitement? How about a reason to watch it? It presents as a story. It was a performance piece and the content it covered did not justify such a bland and silly concept.
Can't say I disagree, however it is a movie I'm surely gonna watch again. Just to see Dafoe and Malkovich again. ----------------- From now till kingdom come... the only thing you can count on... in your existence... is never understanding why.

Phone Booth: 8/10. A very solid film that used the theme correctly. Good that it was short because it couldn't last much longer than it did. Really liked the ending and Sutherland was really good in his role although you didn't really see him in the film.
Very agreed! I liked this movie a bunch when it was released. It deserved to do much better. It was artistic, but not in an obtrusive way. It was exciting. It was to the point and the performances were great. Prolly a fav of 2003 for me.
My rating for Phone Booth : 10 / 10 Simply in my book one of the greatest thrillers ever made. Just to keep that sharp edge for over an hour in the same place that is simply breathtaking. ----------------- From now till kingdom come... the only thing you can count on... in your existence... is never understanding why.

The Mutilator - 5/10 A decent, gruesome slasher/maniac movie complete with laughable acting and unexplained plot holes.
Grave Of The Vampire - 1/10 Truly bad film which I can't recommend to anyone for any reason at all. The only reason it gets a single point is because I made it through to the end.
Evil Ed - 6/10 Funny splatter movie that should keep fans entertained for the full 90 minutes.

Batman
8 / 10
The Tim Burton take on the comics is amazingly well done. He totally has feeling for set-design and the true dark feelings that Batman should bring to ya.
Keaton as Batman/Wayne is the best choice ever and I was very sad to see him go in Part 3. He delivers just that extra thing to Bruce and Batman that is needed for the character. Nicholson as The Joker, I don't think there is any flaw in his overall performance. He was just as in the comics/TV comics. The part was written for Jack no doubt.
Wonderful movie, good action.

Night Of The Living Dead (196 WOW, what a classic. MY rating for this movie is only 3/10 but that doesn't mean I haven't enjoyed this one. I am very glad I finally got to see this horror classic from back in the old days. It is surely a piece of work. The dialogues, I wonder what is wrong with that. They are so totally lame and retarted from time to time that I just couldn't stop laughing inside me. So many things in this movie that totally make no sense combined with the o so not scart zombies, wait zombies ? Oh you mean those people walking around like wooden man in raggy clothes. All in all I loved this movie, eventho my rating is far from high. [ This message was edited by: Hellhound on 2004-04-07 18:28 ]

Glad you enjoyed it HH. You get to watch it for free and we have to pay for it. Something's wrong there. The Candidate - 7/10 Billed as a satirical look at politics I found this a little generous. Maybe I missed something, maybe it's just dated or copied so much that it no longer appears that way but I didn't find it satirical. Other than that it's a well written and acted film and worth the 1hr 40mins that it commands. Insomnia - 8/10 It's bleak but I like it I've not seen the Hollywood version but I was watching it with people who had and they liked this one more, especially the ending. ----------------- I often wonder how I'm going to die. Unless you really like Sandlers films, I wouldn't bother. It's a dreadful film.

Excalibur
6 / 10
I loved the Arthur story, as I do most of the time in movies involving The Round Table, The Grail and The Sword Of Power.
But in this 1981 classic I found it good but not excellent.
A positive not to this movie is the soundtrack, no doubt about it that it is an amazing score. Everyone knows the famous O Fortuna ofc. Negative notes on this movie is well, the age of the movie. Not that it bothered me but as you can see from movies around that time the acting wasn't all that great. Well the acting ok, but the dialogues lost a lot of power cuz they were too played. You could see almost the boredom on the faces cuz it was take "thismany" off the day. There are some known actors in but don't get your hopes up.
I was actually rather suprised to see Clive Swift star in a movie, I only knew him from Keeping Up Appearences.
But the movie had a lot more negative sides then just bad acting. To some extend that a dialogue doesn't work is partly the actor's fault but in this case it was the script as well. The Merlin lines I could dig, always cool with his riddles. But most of the other lines were written.. as short as possible. I hated that.
I partly enjoyed the movie because it changes after an hour totally. It begins as a battle movie, with lot of dispair, then turns in to an almost love story like movie, with cheating and stuff to then return to the source, a battle. I loved that switch.
But I didn't enjoy it quite well enough to add this to my collection. The 6 rating is rather fair consider. Still glad to be able to add it to my Seen List.

Blade II
8/10
No matter how much you see this, it remains a good action flick.
Snipes simply rules as Blade, and this part is better then the first one.
Good special effects, good acting.
When Ron Perlman plays a badass, oh I so love it.

Welcome To The Jungle aka The Rundown
Rating : 7 / 10
Comment : Good combination of action and comedy.
The Rock and Sean William Scott make a good duo but Scott is still in this Stiffler acting pattern. He also mimics certain things from the movie Evolution that bothered me. He did rise a bit on the acting scale then in American Pie. But he still has a long way to go.
The action fighting scenes were simply amazingly well directed. A real thumbs up for that, good camerawork.
Enjoyable movie;

Bill And Ted's Excellent Adventure
5 / 10
Not a totally bad movie, but only enjoyable if you set your mind to complete 0.
Which I tried, but still not really got in the movie.
The music in it totally rules tho.

Billy Madison
Rating : 2 / 10
People warned me for it but I had to see it (wouldn't be a movienut if I didn't) and frankly I am glad it is over.
This stuff is mindnumbing from the first minute till the last.
It is so not funny.
Anyway, the only good part was Steve Buscemi his extra small part in it and to see the beautiful Bridgette Wilson.
Otherwise a movie that is total crap.

Book Of Shadows : Blair Witch 2
Rating : 0,5 / 10
This movie was totally and utterly garbage.
The plot was predictable and left nothing to the imagination.
An attempt to make a thriller/horror movie that would raise the paranoia level in your blood, but the only thing it raises is being annoyed and bored. It was only normal that after the amazing release of th first one another attempt was gonna be made to make anoter hit. Sadly they failed miserable.
The usage of Wiccan in this movie was another thing that bothers me, ok I don't have anything against Wiccan religion and all but the notion in this movie layed just a few layers to thick on it. They coulda done it more subtle then to just ram it down your throat.
Creativty of the writers/director is sadly low, and I wouldn't have shed a tear if this one has never been made.
Totally avoid this movie if you want to see a good movie.

Swimming Pool - 3/10-...well...i'm not quite sure how i feel about this movie. and honestly...it's either i didn't care for it...or i thught it was alright. the story line is very slow...and the only thing that saves it from being a complete loss is the character development...and even that is strngly lacking. the beginning of the film showed such promise, too
one thing that confused me to no end was the ending...so if anyone has seen this movie...please let me know your thoughts.

Secretary 8/10"Lee Holloway is a smart, quirky woman in her twenties who returns to her hometown in Florida after a brief stay in a mental hospital. In search of relief from herself and her oppressive childhood environment, she starts to date a nerdy friend from high school and takes a job as a secretary in a local law firm, soon developing an obsessive crush on her older boss, Mr. Grey. Through their increasingly bizarre relationship, Lee follows her deepest longings to the heights of masochism and finally to a place of self-affirmation." A little...well ok a lot... on the kinky D&S side, but the incredible performances by James Spader and Maggie Gyllenhall make this dark romantic comedy worth seeing. Fall Into Darkness - 1/10 Stupid, stupid film with a premise which could've been a decent thriller. A girl fakes her death and pins it on a friend, now I know that sounds like a spoiler but it's all cleared up in about 15 minutes from the start. The rest of the film is spent wondering what happened to the body and lots of is she, isn't she dead stuff which is completely pointless as you'll already know if you've ever seen a film like this before. Meanwhile her friends are being killed one by one. It's completely by the numbers and if it was made as a proper slasher teen horror it could've been enjoyable but the inclusion of the thriller element means that there's simply no fun (or mystery) to this film. Plus it's obvious who the killer is from about 3 minutes in. No suspense, no horror, no thrills, no good. Stay away even if it's free.
