Director James Cameron has said that he may reunite with actor Arnold Schwarzenegger. The Avatar helmer and creator of Schwarzenegger's best known role as The Terminator told MTV that he is considering projects that he and the California governor can do together once the former action star leaves office. "I think he wants to come back to Hollywood. I think he wants to act again, and we will talk when he's clear of his problems and I'm clear of mine," the filmmaker said. When asked about a possible True Lies sequel, Cameron responded: "I'm thinking about things that we could do together; I'm sure he is as well."

Hugh Jackman is to star in Real Steel. According to Cinema Blend, the robot boxing movie will mark the first collaboration between Touchstone Pictures and DreamWorks. The film has not begun shooting as yet, but has a confirmed release date of November 18, 2011. Insiders speculate that the project may give future Twilight sequels (the franchise having traditionally opened around the American Thanksgiving holiday) true competition at the box office.

Bryce Dallas Howard has said that she has not been asked to appear in Spider-Man 4. The Terminator Salvation star played Gwen Stacey in 2007's Spider-Man 3. Speaking to Crave, Howard revealed that she is yet to discuss reprising the role for the fourth instalment of the superhero franchise. "I don't know. I mean, it was really made clear to me when we all did Spider-Man 3 that it was entirely possible that a character could come back or a character could not and this could be just a specific plotline to that film, because there's so many stories in the comic book series and you want to pack as much in as possible," she said. The actress added: "It's truly up to Sam , you know, the writers and the people who have done such an amazing job protecting that franchise and choosing the best storylines for audiences... I'm a fan first." Spider-Man 4, directed by Raimi, is due in cinemas on May 5, 2011.

Coraline director Henry Selick is planning three new projects, reports HitFix. The first is another collaboration with Coraline writer Neil Gaiman. The second is based on a screenplay he's been working on for ten years and the third is a new story he recently "discovered". The filmmaker is looking to create a film in the San Francisco Bay Area with other stop-motion artists. He hopes to announce a distributor or producing partnership for all three projects in early 2010. "I hope to have financing lined up in February or March," Selick said. He added: "My announcement will be in the next couple of weeks. I am gonna make another stop-motion film. As long as someone is going to see them, I'll make them." Coraline received ten nominations for this year's Annie Awards and is considered to be an Oscar contender in the category of 'Best Animated Feature'.

J.J. Abrams is close to securing the movie rights to Colum McCann's National Book Award-winning novel Let The Great World Spin. McCann will adapt the screenplay, with Abrams producing through his Bad Robot production firm at Paramount, says The Hollywood Reporter. Let The Great World Spin follows a group of characters and their struggles living in New York in the early '70s. The story is built around Philippe Petit's World Trade Centre stunt, which saw the Frenchman string a tightrope between the Twin Towers and walk across it in the summer of 1974. The recent documentary Man On Wire also shed light on Petit's illegal high-wire act. Abrams is also working on a Micronauts project for Paramount.

Natalie Portman will lead the cast of Pride And Prejudice And Zombies, a horror reworking of Jane Austen's classic novel. The movie is based on Seth Grahame-Smith's book of the same name, which unleashes a flesh-eating zombie virus on Austen's characters. Portman will produce and play the zombie-slaying Elizabeth Bennet, reports Variety. "Natalie and I are longtime passionate fans of Jane Austen's books and this a fresh, fun and thought-provoking way to approach her work," said Portman's producing partner Annette Savitch. "The idea of zombies running rampant in 19th century England may sound odd, but it lends a modern sense of urgency to a well known love story." Richard Kelly (Donnie Darko, The Box) is also onboard to produce the movie.

James Cameron latest science fiction movie for 20th Century Fox is a remake of Fantastic Voyage. Shane Salerno is writing the screenplay for the blockbuster, about five scientists who are shrunk and injected into the body of a dying colleague to save his life. Cameron and Salerno were rumoured to be working on Doomsday Protocol, however the pair's project is a new version of the 1966 film. Cameron's latest film Avatar opens in cinemas on December 17.

Steve Coogan has revealed that the Alan Partridge movie will take his hapless chatshow host to America. Speaking to Empire, Coogan said that an official announcement on the movie will be made in "the next couple of months". "We're doing it in the States, but I'm not going to try and Americanise it," said Coogan. "I wouldn't try to do the same observational stuff here that I do in Britain. I'm not going to come over here and go, 'Right, now I'm going to try and invent five different characters who are all American,' because I'm not steeped in American culture. It wouldn't work. "I'm so ingrained in British culture that for me to observe the minutiae of being British in all its different ways is very easy. I couldn't claim to do that here, and if I did they'd end up being caricatures. It'll be a British fool/idiot character in a movie that should appeal to everybody." Coogan co-writes the Partridge character with Peter Baynham, Patrick Marber and Armando Iannucci.

Colin Firth has reportedly claimed that he likes the idea of filming a third Bridget Jones movie. The actor starred as Bridget's (Renee Zellwegger) love interest Mark Darcy in the original film and its sequel, based on the novels by Helen Fielding. Recent reports have suggested that Working Title is considering a third instalment, possibly inspired by Fielding's newspaper columns. Speaking to Moviefone, he said: "I only know what you know. That might not be believable to you, but I honestly don't know. I'm not in regular touch with the Working Title people. "I don't see why not! I think it would be well worth having a go. I like the idea in some ways now because I think enough time has gone by, we're not just sort of trailing the other two. We've all grown a little older, I think there's more fun to be had with that. I'm not adverse to the idea." When asked if he would return, he replied: "Yeah, it depends. Good script - yes. Bad script - no." Zellweger played down speculation about the film earlier this year, insisting that she had not heard anything about a third project.

Sigourney Weaver has revealed spoilers about the storyline for Ghostbusters 3. Speaking to Channel 4 News ahead of her new film Avatar's release, the actress, who appeared as Dana Barrett in the first two movies, confirmed that her character's son Oscar and Bill Murray's Peter Venckman will play key parts in the sequel. "I'm afraid to say is happening, I hope people are excited about that," she said. "I don't know if I'm going to be in it, I have had a couple of calls asking, 'Would you read the script?' I know that my little son Oscar - who was kidnapped from me - I think he has grown up to be a Ghostbuster." Weaver confessed that she is unlikely to have a big role in the third movie, adding: "I might be in it; I see nothing wrong with being in it, although I don't think I will have a big part. I think Bill Murray has a little more to do with it - he's a ghost."

Paul Reubens wants to bring Pee-wee's Playhouse to the big screen. In an interview with The AP, Reubens revealed that the upcoming return of his live show The Pee-wee Herman Show is just the first step in his plan for his iconic character. "Well, you know, I really want to make a movie version of The Playhouse, my Saturday morning kid show. seemed like a great way to do it: Reintroduce it, get back out there, introduce Pee-wee to the new generation that didn't know about it," he said. The popular Saturday morning children's show was cancelled in 1991 when Reubens was arrested for indecent exposure. The Pee-wee Herman Show will run at the Club Nokia theater in Los Angeles from January 12 to February 7 and will feature 20 puppets, along with many original cast members, including Lynne Stewart as Miss Yvonne, John Moody as Mailman Mike and John Paragon as Jambi the Genie. "I think I am grateful for my friends," Reubens added. "I am grateful for my fans. I am grateful that people still support me. I am grateful that people are going to buy tickets to come see my fabulous, fantastic, unbelievably incredible show at Club Nokia... I hope people have tickets and that is pretty much what I am thankful for."

The studio behind The Twilight Saga has bought Roman Polanski's latest film. According to The Hollywood Insider, Summit Entertainment picked up The Ghost Writer - the project Polanski was finishing while imprisoned in Switzerland on child molestation charges. Summit, which also holds international distribution rights, will release the thriller starring Pierce Brosnan and Ewan McGregor during the first half of 2010. Polanski is currently under house arrest at his chalet in Switzerland. He was arrested in Zurich in September on an international fugitive warrant for his sex crimes against 13-year-old Samantha Geimer in 1977.

Bryce Dallas Howard has signed to appear in supernatural thriller Hereafter, reports Empire. The Spider-Man 3 star joins Matt Damon and director Clint Eastwood on the project, due for a December 2010 release. Details on the Peter Morgan-scripted Hereafter are being kept secret by Warner Bros, however the film is thought to be in a similar vein to M. Night Shyamalan's The Sixth Sense. Eastwood is also producing for Steven Spielberg's DreamWorks.

Heroes actress Ali Larter is in talks to co-star in science fiction thriller UFO. Speaking to Forbidden Planet, director Matthew Gratzner revealed that Larter is the frontrunner for the role of Virginia Lake. "We've talked to Ali Larter, who's very interested," he said. "I've actually met with her, and I think she would be a great addition to the picture. Lake is very strong and obviously also very feminine, and Ali Larter definitely encompasses that." Fringe star Joshua Jackson was recently cast in the lead role of Paul Foster. UFO is based on a 1970s TV series of the same name. Shooting is scheduled to start in the UK next spring.

Charges have been dropped against a woman accused with taping parts of New Moon at a US cinema. Cook County prosecutors in Chicago said that they won't pursue charges against 22-year-old Samantha Tumpach, according to The Hollywood Reporter. She was arrested at a theatre in Rosemont, Chicago on November 28 after allegedly videotaping three minutes of the Twilight sequel. Tumpach claimed that she was taping her sister's birthday celebration at the cinema, which included film previews, adverts and a couple of short movie scenes. She insisted that it was "never her intention" to pirate the film. New Moon director Chris Weitz recently defended Tumpach, saying, "There is, needless to say, a difference between trying to protect the copyright of a film and making an unfair example of someone who clearly seems not to have any intentions towards video piracy."

2010 Movie Preview: Part 1

http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/movies/news/a190435/2010-movie-preview-part-1.html

The animation directors of DC Comics's Justice League: Crisis On Two Earths have revealed that their dream projects would be Sandman and Aquaman features. Lauren Montgomery and Sam Liu, who have worked on the past three DC Universe films, have just completed an original Justice League story from award-winning animation and comics writer Dwayne McDuffie. The pair were asked by Comicsonline what DC-based movie they hoped to work on in the future. Liu said: "I’d love to do Sandman from the Vertigo line. I don’t know what kind of story that would be, but I’d love to work with Neil Gaiman because I really loved those comics." Montgomery replied: "I want that Aquaman project, but I doubt we’ll ever make it." Justice League: Crisis On Two Earths, from Superman Doomsday executive producer Bruce Timm, is to be released by Warner Home Video on February 23, 2010.
