Its a Harry Bosch novel. He is the main character. Its about a movie producer who is found shot to death in the trunk of his car. The investigation goes from LA to Vegas and back again.
Its pretty good. I thought it was one of Connely's newer books but I realized it was published in '97. No matter though.

I finally finished it last week and was pleased with it. It held my attention and whenever I put it down, i wanted to pick it back up and keep reading. I just started Basket Case by Carl Hiaasen. Holy shit is this book funny. Its a mystery with a sense of humor. I'm only 30 pages in and I love it already. ----------------- Say, could I interest you in a chocolate covered pretzel?

Ok I just finished "If Chins Could Kill: Confessions of a B-Movie Actor" by Bruce Campbell for like the 5th time. The book is awesome! Not only is it funny, but it's also a great insight into underground, low budget movie making...and how to make it big -kinda.
I am now reading:
The Amityville Horror (probably for the 5th time) Dean Koontz's "Frankenstein" Clive Barker's "Books of Blood" America: The Book by Jon Stewart
I like funny, fantasy or horror. Guess I am a retard haha. I just don't do the intelectual stuff like non-fiction history or political books. I feel I can go on the net, watch Discovery or History channel for that...

Now that it's summer rerun season, I'm trying to finally fit in some reading. (Although there are a handful of summer shows I'm going to watch.)
Recently finished reading Donald E. Westlake's Watch Your Back!, another in the Dortmunder series. As well as his Nobody Runs Forever under his Richard Stark penname.
I'm now about halfway through Howard Roughan's The Promise of a Lie (love the title!) Quite interesting, although his previous book The Up and Comer felt a little better written. Still, very engaging and I'm anxious to keep reading.

wd, did you ever read Robert McCammon's Swan Song? That always comes to mind when I think of epic fantasy/horror.

I'm going to resurrect this thread!
I am presently reading Battle Royale. It is 600+ pages, and I'm about 2/3 of the way in. I've seen the movie years ago, but am enjoying the novel. Lots of characters to keep track of and brutal at times, but fun in a twisted way.

Hey great idea!
I am getting ready to read the second Dark Tower book. I also want to read The Dome and The Stand.
I am currently reading World War Z. Damn is this a hard book to get into. Great idea, ho-hum execution.
I have recently finished The Strain, The Road and the first Dark Tower book.

Just started reading The Lincoln Lawyer by Michael Connelly. Not one of his Harry Bosch books, but sounds like a good legal thriller.

The Lincoln Lawyer was OK -- I wouldn't rave about it. Very slow to get going.
I'm now reading Dean Koontz' Velocity, which engaged my interest right away. I find his books very uneven (there were a few I quit reading), but this one is pretty good.

I really enjoyed Koontz' Velocity.
I am now reading Joseph Wambaugh's Hollywood Station. I'm not sure why he took such a long break previous to this one, but I'm really liking this. (He has 2 follow-up "Hollywood" novels so far.)
